Lab-Grown Embryos Raise Ethical Questions

22 則留言 :

  1. 1. Early scientists experimented with cultivating human embryos in the laboratory for 13 days, and pointed out that human embryos should not be left for more than 14 days. In order to study these, it also made some people think that they should not do this because they felt that they violated ethics, although this allows us Learn more about human genetics and even genetic diseases.
    2. I don’t have any opinions. I think there are good and bad. On the one hand, it can make us understand humans better, but on the other hand, it is part of ethics and morality.

  3. 1. The scientists want to extend the date limit of study. Therefore the ethical debate comes in. They hope that both ethicists and the general public will be involved in a larger discussion that weight up the two sides of the argument.
2.Yes, I think we should allow scientists to do it. If lab-grown embryos succeed, we can use them in lots of chemical experiments or biological experiments, it does have a lot of benefits to human beings.

  4. 1. In explaining the issues related to the research and growth of human embryos, scientists study whether embryos can break through the 14th day of cultivation, and ethicists and the public oppose embryo growth research.

    2. Not allowed, may cause results that we cannot solve, for example, the embryo may not grow well, or the gene may be mutated.

2.No,if agree with the progress of this technology, there may be a crisis that we cannot handle in the future.

  7. 1. With the advancement of IVF technology, humans can understand more genetic diseases. It is accompanied by ethical issues and how to measure the dispute on both sides.
    2. I think we should allow scientists to grow and study human embryo in a lab for more than 14 days. Although there may be ethical problems, it can contribute to medical technology. This is a great progress in human science and technology.

  8. 1. Scientists want to over the date limit. But it will increase some ethical problem.
    2. I don't care about we should or shouldn't allow. Because I don't know if they grow a embryo in a lab for more than 14 days will cause what kind of problem.

  9. 1.Many people see growing and examining embryos as no different from experimenting on human children. They oppose the whole idea of lab-grown embryos, not to mention extending the 14-day limit.

2.The embryo at 14 days after the start of the heart of the prototype, it can not be simply referred to as cells, that's a ready to start a new human, How can freely use a variety of Experimental Methods in research, tear, torn this also cannot be the verbal small life.

  10. 1.Raise Human embryo has a limit because the technique in the past could only cultivated it for under 14 days and the ethical question disturbed its development. Nowadays, human can handle this technique more stable, but this is not a dicesion for scientists to make alone, we need both ethicists and general public should be involved.
2.In my opinion, I think we should allow scientists to do it. This technology is very important to human being's future, we could use this technique to obtain more data of human body and do more medical experiments, it surely a big step on the road of improvement.

I think we should allow scientists to study because it can help humans overcome certain genetic diseases.

  12. 1. A new scientific breakthrough was achieved earlier this year when scientists were able to grow a human embryo in a lab for 13 days.
However, it brought them close to an ethical prohibition stating that human embryos can’t cultivated in a lab for more than 14 days.
Some scientists are asking whether the limit should be extended.
This is where the ethical debate comes in.
Many people oppose the whole idea of lab-grown embryos, not to mention extending the 14-day limit.

    2. After 14 days, an embryo develops the “primitive streak.” The cells that become the head can be distinguished from those that from the lower body. Therefore, the embryo can be considered a true individual at this stage.

    1.Lab-grown embryos raise ethical questions.
    (看完覺得主題就是全篇要表達的哈哈哈)

2.In terms of ethics, I don’t allow scientist to use human embryos over 14 days for experiments. But when this experiment is to treat disease, I will agree. Because I think it is more important to develop a method to save human diseases. Although it is unethical. Taking the epidemic as an example, we must do something to control the spread of the epidemic.

    1.

Lab-grown embryos can be cultivated in labs for more than 14 days, the more days they cultivate in labs, the more human development we learn. But it will cause ethical prohibition. To deal with this, every general public and ethicists should be involved, not only scientists.

    2.

I have no idea how deep do the research is, whether this research of human is enough or not, but I know that, greedy people will keep research, there is no endless.

It is not a good thing that lab-grown embryos brought close to an ethical prohibition, there’s must a reason why they build the rules, for instance, lab-grown embryos cultivate in labs over 14 days, the cells will be distinguished from the head and the lower body. Just in case of a lab-grown embryo died in the lab, who will be responsible for this? The embryo is a child, so could it be said like the scientist is a killer?

There are too many grey area that haven’t be in law, it will cause too many questions, so I’m not agree with it.

1.In this article we talk about a new scientific achievement and the ethical debate that comes with said achievement.

    2. Personally I think it is only natural for human to push the boundaries of technology and pursue what's beyond our knowledge, so even if we know something isn't ok, probably someone would do it anyway. I think it's interesting to see how close human can get to the status of "playing god" and what are the consequences for mankind as a result.

Scientific were able to grow a human embryo in a lab for 13 days. The 14-day limit was imposted in 1980s. But now, some scientists are asking whether the limit should be extended. Professor Magdalena, one of the researchers who worked on the study. She hopes that both ethicists and the general public will be involved in the discussion.

    2.

I don’t think we should allow scientists to grow human embryo in lab for more than 14 days. Because that will become a real life and not just an experiment, it may also lose control after growing up

1.Embryos raise is important for scientists experiment, but if this experiment want to extend to 14 days, whether compliance with moral principle.
    2. This is a good question. I think life is very important, nothing can replace it. So if this experiment would hurt the embryos, I oppose it.

1.Discuss an issue about the study of human embryos and the ethical issues involved.

2.Yes, I do. I think we should allow scientists to grow and study human embryo in a lad more than 14 days.
But there must be relevant regulations. Because human greed Will make this research becoming a terrible disaster. But if human beings don’t develop in this direction, Medical research is difficult to break through.

2.Many research and ethics are at odds with each other. For example, artificial conception is not a natural process. But If no one wants to do it, human technology will not continue to improve and improve, but is it necessary to violate the laws of nature in many cases to satisfy human desires?
I don't know. I don't think there's a reason for this article to convince me at the moment.

1.Research on human embryos process and related issues.

2.I agree that scientists have studied embryos in the laboratory for more than 14 days.

Because that helps scientists discover more genes that cause genetic diseases and solve them; even help people with infertility get healthy children with IVF.
