In both cases, if we have a purpose in life which does not depend on external factors, but rather depends on the person we are inside, (in my case, it depends on my relationship with God) we can have a happy and meaningful life despite these uncertainties.

Uncertainty things...
First:
"I have seen something further under the sun, that the swift do not always win the race, nor do the mighty win the battle,p nor do the wise always have the food, nor do the intelligent always have the riches,q nor do those with knowledge always have success,r because time and unexpected events overtake them all".
It's just ve in the wrong place at the wrong time, there is nothing that we can do to avoid it.
