Take Taiwan 's education for example.Students in Taiwan follow what teacher says,we often ask teacher question or raising our hands during the class.Morrie says that the culture has it's own conservative rule,therefore I think we should make our own study way.I really admire the study way in foreign countries, cause it's more freedom.
I think the good side of our culture is, we have a lot of people with kind heart that are willing to help others The bad side is, even nowadays our customs are still not as free as the foreign country
In our culture, our parents very care about their own children, and some parents even overdo the management. The parents do this because of love, but it's hard to find a balance between care about someone and manage someone too over.
Take Taiwan's students for example. Everytime we are Hard working on our tests or on any other things,but many times when teacher ask us that we have any questions or not. We usually choose to be quite, rather than ask many questions like other students from other countries.
We have many 24hr stores. It's very convenient to us when we need something important in the midnight. However, we often see someone people seeming those stores as their houses. They might sleep there. Sometimes , they don't clean and make the places dirty.
Our culture is diverse. I think it is the different languages and ethnics that cause such condition. In addition,many cultures are underestimated because of the advanced technology.Young people change their thoughts on outdated cultures.They follow new trends for fear of isolaing from universal values.
According to Morrie’s thought of our culture. I think making money is not a bad thing. It is more important that we need more self-control and satisfaction. So we will care more about other things such as love and relationship.
There are many different ways in our culture between Wastern culture,for example the parents in Taiwan,they will look forward to Children become lawyer teacher; doctor in the future. In western they hope their children can find what they really want to do.The issue caused most Taiwanese children afraid of chasing the goals
After I started living in Taiwan, I found some differences and common points among Japanese culture and Taiwanese culture. For example, there are similar idea about education for children, but there are different thoughts about woman’s job. Normally, in Japan, a lot of mothers retired their job because of childbirth. Some companies’ bosses don’t allow to take maternity leaves, and they put pressure on pregnant women because pregnant women can’t work well morning sickness. A lot of young Japanese think it is very serious problem, but it isn’t improved.
In Taiwanese culture,people are full of human warmth.By contrast to western countries,the education in Taiwan that students always have more academic pressure.
In Taiwan our education limited to study hard,and our parents send us to cram school almost everyday.However, other contries's students seldom went to cram school,instead, they will choose to join some clubs after school.
